No. Creating drawings is an important responsibility, but an architect's role can involve much more than that. Architects communicate with clients, develop design concepts, study the site, consider regulations, coordinate with engineers, and help select materials and finishes. Depending on the project agreement, they may also provide support during construction by answering design questions or reviewing certain work. They use their technical and creative knowledge to make sure different parts of a building work together. When people ask what does an architect do, it is important to remember that architectural work can cover the project from early planning and concept development through documentation and, in some cases, construction administration.
