Monday's (2/3) cold winds coming off Puget Sound made for miserable photography and bird watching, but the eagles relished the opportunity to soar high above the landscape.
The Hutt Park pair were high in the sky north of Sunset Ave.
As was a third (sub?) adult which turned south and flew over me.
My son and drove up to Hutt Park, where the pair was perched in the family tree. The lone adult made a pass over the park and started a screech fest.
After the lone adult flew off, a juvie passed by.
The Hutt Park pair would periodically take off from the tree, soar, return to rest, then repeat the cycle.
An earlier stop at Marina Park with Terry had not turned up any eagles, but Daren and I returned to catch the sunset.
A juvie flew north shortly after our arrival.
One of the Pt. Edwards pair had been perched on the piling with a fish. It got upset when the juvie passed by and took off towards the family tree past the off leash dog beach.
Its mate, which also had a fish, flew in from south of Pt. Edwards. The two made several landings and take-offs from the family tree amid a lot of screeching.
