went back up yesterday after a very unproductive visit Monday, in hopes that Monday's lack of activity was just temporary. it took a while, but a couple of owls did make an appearance, though they again stayed well out most of the afternoon. i'm afraid "owl season" up there may be winding down a bit early this year... late in the day, one made a few passes at a "usable" distance, but nowhere near as close as last Tuesday.
then it perched on a post by the road for one last shot as i was leaving.

Terry, Daren, and I went up there today. The owls were a no-show. Terry thought that may have been in response to the wind.

could be... they tend to fly less when it's windy, makes it harder for them to hunt. but after several days of almost no activity, i'm thinking their "season" up there is about done...
