went back to the osprey nest this afternoon to see what i could see... was hoping to catch one returning with a fish, but no such luck. had to settle for some plain old take-off and landing shots. these are about 90% of full frame - i cropped a little to reduce a surfeit of sky... 7D, 400mm, 1/1600-1/2000 @ f/7.1

Keep on going back to the nest. You will eventually catch Dad arriving with a meal.

oh, i got a great shot of dad bringin' home the bacon last summer... it's just always more interesting when you can get a shot like that, as opposed to just arrivals and departures...
 
thankls, Chad... though i believe "rapture" refers to an end-times event, not a bird... ;)

I mentioned that to Chad in a PM. However, I am willing to bet that many a fish has concluded that capture by an osprey is an end of times event. ;)
