spent a couple of hours watching the osprey nest this evening... still no sign of chicks. the male was off hunting somewhere, never did show up, but Mom got off the nest for a quick break to stretch her legs, allowing me a few snaps...

Here is a webcam which looks down on an osprey nest. The chicks hatched last week, are very tiny, and are covered by the mother. You can see why we have no hope of spotting them from our vantage points below the nest until they get fairly large.
