Went back up to Wylie Slough this afternoon to check on the great horned owl nest... stood around with my hands in my pockets for almost 2 hours waiting for something to happen before Mama started preening and feeding her owlets. The menu selection for the day was fowl, apparently a grebe, judging by the foot I saw in one of my photos... Patience pays! Not the best shots due to poor light and cropping, but I feel fortunate to have captured these!

Good shots, regardless of the light.
I have been following the great horned owl webcam in Oklahoma City. The male makes food deliveries at night and the female leaves the nest more often as the owlets get larger.
