went down to Canyon Park with a friend this afternoon - he'd never been there, so it was something of a revelation for him. lots of activity, including spotting at least two juvenile green herons and one adult. i suspect there's a nest there, but i have no idea where it might be! anyway, i was able to get my first green heron shots in about 6 years! these are all of one of the young ones; the other juvenile and the adult did a fly-by, but didn't land close enough for photos. the water level in the pond there has dropped about 6 inches in the last 7-10 days; i wonder if it'll dry up completely by August?
