After watching the eaglet pair 'branching' for a few days, Bill Anderson told me he thought there was only one eaglet in the Pt Edwards nest when he was watching it this morning. Just after lunch I checked it out and was lucky to catch one of the fledglings flying by the nest and then landing on a branch above the nest while its nest mate looked on. I think both birds will be flying by tomorrow.

All shots were taken with a Canon 7D and 500 f4L with a 1.4x extender. Lighting was not good - I used an ISO of 1600 and about a +1/3 exp. comp. because of the bright background.

The Fly By (it looks like it just took off from the nest, but in fact it flew from another tree and passed by the nest as I snapped the shot)

The Touch Down! This was taken just as she/he touched down on the branch. There was lots of flailing around for a while until its perch was secure. :) The other nestling looked on with some concern.

The nest mate looks pleased :)

This is my favorite of the bunch. I like the expressions (if one can use that word in this instance) :)

The perched nestling flew down to the nest while the 'Official' fledgling watched with much interest
