my new 5D Mk II arrived today... well, very late this afternoon, actually... and by the time i got the battery charged and all that stuff, the sun had gone down. that's okay, because i really wanted to try the high-ISO performance anyway. these three shots are all straight from the camera, no cropping and no processing except for resizing and a touch of sharpening.

the ISO 3200 shot is starting to show a bit of noise in the OOF areas, but it's nothing that good NR software can't deal with. viewed at 100%, there's a bit of visible noise in the center blossoms, but not bad, and in any normal print size, it wouldn't be noticeable. larger prints would need some noise reduction, though... *
i was pleased to find that my trusty old Tamron SP24-135 lens seems to work perfectly, and exhibits the same nice degree of sharpness and contrast that it did with my 5D Mk I. i think this rig is gonna work out VERY nicely indeed!
