don't usually see waxwings this early, but there were some at Juanita Bay this afternoon, so i took advantage of the opportunity... 7D, 400mm, f/8... first shot at 1/250, second at 1/1250 in Av mode...

Great captures, some inspiration here. I've taken dozens of shots of cedar waxwings, never with the lighting and color you are sharing with us in these images.

thanks, Chad... these were shot quite late in the day - around 7 PM - so i got some real nice late sunlight on this little fella...
 


thanks. these have always been among my favorite bird subjects... not sure why, but i find them very photogenic.
 
These are definitely one of my favorite birds, Rocky. Great colors...that evening light intensified them nicely! Super nice work!
