got my first shots of cedar waxwings this season down at Juanita a few days back... as usual, they don't come too close - these were taken from about 40 feet away - but at least they weren't all the way up in the treetops!
not sure what this one was doing with the stick... i don't think they build their nests from twigs, do they? i took this shot mainly for the red tips on the feathers...
Exciting, Rocky - excellent! So glad to see them - I haven't spotted them yet at Edmonds.
