went up to Franklin Falls this afternoon... it was kinda hazy and bright overcast, so the light was good for waterfalls. bright enough, but not too much, and diffused. taken with 5D and 24-135, various settings...
i don't normally like people in my shots, but in this one, the kid by the falls adds scale...
here's the shot i'm keeping...
and one in horizontal format, showing the basin...

The kid does indeed add scale. Love the shots. Where is Franklin Falls?
I hope you don't mind my saying this. There is something about the second one, I can't quite put my fingers on it. I like the falls but the rocks don't quite seem right. Maybe there is slightly less contrast or saturation. I probably would not have noticed it had I not seen the other two. Because of the moisture I expect them to be a shade darker.

thanks, Janice. Franklin Falls is just west of Snoqualmie Pass, between the east- and westbound lanes of I-90.
now that i look at it, i think you're right... looks like #2 is a tad less saturated, maybe a skosh less contrast... easily fixed, but i hadn't noticed it last night.

Just a little tweek is all it needs.
To me the last one is the best. The falls seems to be at about the 3rd spot and the rocks on both sides frame it nicely.
