Great Egret at the Ballard Locks

It has been reported that a Great Egret has been around the Ballard Locks for a couple of weeks. I went over there today and found it. I was only able to get a few pictures before the numerous crows chased it away.

i'm surprised at how many egret sightings there have been locally! these birds are not common in the Puget Sound basin - in fact, until this year, i'd never actually seen one in this area! now it seems they're popping up all over the place!
