not sure which would be more likely if a willow sapling were capable of such things, but this little twig poking through the recent snowfall looked like it was determined to do its "spring thing" in spite of several inches of the white stuff... taken with my 40D and Tamron 24-135 just before it failed, 105mm, 1/15 @ f/14...

Perservering maybe? Great shot!! I found the same thing going on yesterday when I was doing snow shots..snow trying to hide bits of spring.
