these two harriers were hunting over the field at Eide Road, with the sunset sky behind them... couldn't pass up these shots...

Good shots. It is fun to photograph the interaction between a short-eared owl and a northern harrier when their hunting circles intersect. During one of my visits to the West 90 with Terry, I photographed one bird going after a mouse the other had caught. The mouse got dropped and my photograph captured the owl, the harrier, and the free-falling mouse all in focus in mid air.
