Was the flower far away or were you using your 150-600 super telephoto zoom to get that blurred background so the flower would stand out?
 
both! the bloom was on a branch about 50 feet away, and the background (trees) was probably 20 yards beyond that. i shot it wide open purposely to blur the background.
