went up to Eide Road yesterday to see if there was anything going on... not much activity, as there were still hunters running around looking for the pheasant that the game department releases there. i did see one pheasant fly into a small thicket, but it never came back out that i could see. no owls, but there were a pair of harriers hunting over the marsh. the male never came close enough for a shot, but i did manage a couple of the female...

I love harriers. They look like a cross between an owl, a hawk, and a falcon.

yeah, they kinda do, don't they? i really like the males... the pale gray markings with dark wingtips are so striking!
