where did you find a Mandarin duck in this part of the world?? they're the only one i think is more beautiful than wood ducks, but i've never seen a live one!

I saw them Tuesday afternoon at Tryon Creek State Park in SW Portland, Rocky. I went back yesterday and didn't see them; that doesn't mean they're not there. I will be going back to look for them hopefully tomorrow.
Hard to say just exactly how they got there, escapees or dropped off? I've heard there's even been talk in the birding community of a feral population in the region.
