well, okay, the ferry is kinda incidental in this shot, but i admit i did that on purpose...

this is one of those rare instances where i gave the image a little "help" to punch it up and make it more dramatic. the original was okay, but a touch of shadow/highlight adjustment, followed by some judicious adjustment of saturation levels and contrast, made it a much more interesting photo. 7D, 100-400 @ 150mm, 1/1600 @ f/8, ISO 800...

thanks, Chad... here's the original. not bad, but a bit bland. by increasing the saturation and adjusting the hue in the yellow channel, i was able to give it a more dramatic look... not entirely an "as-i-saw-it" representation, but sometimes a little artistry is warranted, i think...
