I think you did about the best that you could with that cloud cover, Christena. If anything, I think a more dramatic sky would help. It'd be great to do an HDR with high contrast sky... but, I think your shot is great. Awesome composition and nice tone. WELL DONE!!!

I like it! I agree that the composition is great.

I'm not a B&W expert by any means, so take this with a liberal grain of salt. To my eye, though, there seems to be too much contrast somehow. Could you try lightening up the church without blowing out the sky? Then of course, you might want to darken the puddles(?) in front so they don't stand out so much.

I think a very thin border would great on the computer screen, as well. Here's a super quick rendition of your image, with a little border, lightened church, and a little more drama in the sky. It was quick and poor work, but you get the idea.

I do love the shot, and I think the placement of the arch is almost spot on... for my taste!

Thanks for all the help I will try to rework it a little and I appreciate the re-edit example. I can't go back any time soon because because I don't live anywhere near the location. I did take muliple shots and I do have one that shows more foreground.

Mike, I like your editing ideas but the "puddles" are patches of snow. :)
