this lioness had a litter of cubs back in November. got this shot of mom and one of the cubs this afternoon. she was about 25 yards away, and this is a full-frame, uncropped shot... 7D, 250mm, 1/400 @ f/5.0

thanks, guys! Bill, much as i'd love to say this was captured in Tanzania, yeah, it was Woodland Park... ;)
 
I was at the lion exhibit at the zoo about three years ago. A zoo employee told me that they were going to exchange the female lion there at the time for another one. I wonder if the one you photographed is the "replacement" female.
