this osprey caught itself what looks like a nice red snapper, which it spent about an hour nibbling on, and carrying around with it until it was done. it was in the nest when i arrived, and i caught a shot of it leaving the nest, fish in talon (i know it's a "butt shot", but took the it to show the fish) as i brought the lens up. then it flew to a piling to eat part of its catch. the second shot was from about 100 yards away, so it's heavily cropped... the piling is in the middle of the river, and i was probably 50 yards or so from the shore. 7DII with Tamron 150-600...

It looks as though that osprey has been raiding someone's backyard goldfish pond.
