I was a bit late to the party, but I spent a few days on the Nooksack River at Deming, WA last week (first full week in January). The season was pretty much over as there were very few fish left in the river. So the eagles are mostly just hanging out in the trees, but if you're lucky you'll catch them squabbling over a carcass.

On Friday I spent about 14 hours on the project between drive time and the time I spent shooting. Of that 14 hours, roughly 15 minutes was productive, but I got some really good shots in that brief time. Here's a favorite:
