I've been enjoying this nice Indian summer weather we've been having. It's just too soon to start thinking about snow, but there it was on the mountain this morning. A fresh dusting of snow covering what had been bare rocks only 4 days ago. It's not a lot of snow, but dang it, it's coming.
The top image was taken Friday the 23rd, the bottom image taken through the breaking clouds this afternoon Wednesday the 28th.

Well it does make for a nice photo op.

Portland news last night said the SNOW level might be about 6500 ft, dont remember if they said this weekend or early next week.
Snuffy, no filter on that first one, just pre-sunset light. The CP wouldn't work since the sun was at my back. Snapped from the football field where I was shooting a game Friday evening.
Now that I've had a little time to go through all the pictures I have equivalent comparable shots taken with the 400mm. The second one later in the afternoon when the clouds cleared but it was still cold enough for the snow not to melt up there. The most obvious part is the slide on the right side of the Tahoma glacier that is covered in the post snow shot.
Won't be long and it will be solid white again.
