The harriers and owls I photographed Sunday afternoon all came up empty. I hope they had better success after I left or it was going to be a long, cold, hungry night.

Female harriers outnumber males about 4:1. You were fortunate to find a male and get such goods shots of it.
Sunday (2/8/15) my son and I visited Eide Road after his Special Olympics regional basketball tournament in Stanwood was over.
I got some distance shots of a female harrier with photographers in the foreground and background.
Rocky's male northern harrier flew close and provided some spectral images in the low light of the overcast afternoon.
The gray of the male fits in nicely with the sky and clouds.
