Finally got some good shots of one of my nemesis birds, the northern shrike. Every time I'd seen one previously, it seemed that it was backlit silhouette, or the light was gray and gloomy, or it was partly obscured by branches... This little fellow, though, was very cooperative, perching repeatedly in the open, in good light, and close enough for good photos!
Thanks, Bill! I've seen them numerous times up at Eide Road, but never been able to get one in good light or close enough... today was a good day for this little guy!
