Got some nice shots of a black oystercatcher yesterday at Rosario Head, along with the harlequins. I'd seen oystercatchers before, but never got a decent shot of one till now...

Thanks, Bill. I'd only seen one once before, out on the coast. There aren't that many of them - estimates range from 9-11,000 total throughout their range from Alaska to California, and they're considered "uncommon" in WA by the Seattle Audubon - so seeing one is kind of a treat. Getting good photos of one is even better...
