this little female rufous hummingbird landed on a branch about 20 feet in front of me yesterday, and sat there long enough for half a dozen shots... not as colorful as the male, perhaps, but in good light, she's still quite pretty...
A really brightly colored female. When I first looked at your image, I thought it was a male. Nice photo - love the setting too...!

thanks, Terry! this little gal was pretty colorful, but the light really brought out the colors...

He just has that calm demeanor!
The avian world responds well to calm.
Great shot! I've seen the male Rufous, but never the female.
