There's been a rare (for this area) tropical kingbird hanging out up at Eide Road in Stanwood for the last week or so. Finally got some shots of it this afternoon. Not the best - light was kinda hazy and not very bright - but given that these little guys are quite rare for this part of the country, I'll take it!

Interesting find, Rocky. I see them in Costa Rica pretty frequently. It sure is odd to see one all the way up here.

Thanks, guys! Max, I've checked a couple of bird sites, and apparently they do occasionally make their way this far north, but usually out on the coast, and are only rarely seen in the Puget Sound area. This one has stirred quite a lot of interest, needless to say!
