So, why do you think the images are much nicer? What's different about them? They also stress how important good glass is (which is true as far as I can tell.) Obviously the camera matters too, but I'm curious as to what the differences are, and if you have an idea why they happen?
thanks, Bob! in this case, it's partly the increased resolution - the Mk II has twice the Mp count of the 40D - and partly that the color rendition is richer. i didn't mess with the colors at all. the 40D is a very good camera, but it is about 5 years out of date - an eternity in digital photography! - and the Mk II has a newer and better image processor that provides better color depth and smoother transitions.
