The trees are annoying. With careful positioning, you can reduce their impact somewhat, but not eliminate them. I think I was close to the house on the south end of the park for this one and as close to the fence as I could reasonably get. (I actually considered, then discarded, the idea of asking the homeowner "If I give you $20, can I shoot from your back porch/roof?")
Instead, I just cranked my tripod up as high as I could (maybe 6 feet) I'm seriously considering bringing a small ladder and clamp system next time. A few more feet would really help.
