this little green heron wanted a snack, and there apparently weren't fish to be had, so it noshed on a nice fat dragonfly which it caught by one leg and proceeded to scarf down...

Two years ago I photographed a green heron at Scriber Creek Park in Lynnwood catching a bullfrog tadpole. After consuming the tadpole, the heron eyed some red dragonflies which were flying near it. I guess it was no longer hungry as it made no effort to grab the dragonflies as dessert.
