went down to Edmonds today, ran in to Jerome at the marsh, then Bill and Daren showed up. not much activity there, so we headed for the fishing pier... about all we saw there was a pigeon guillemot. a lady said she'd seen some harlequin ducks over at Brackett's Landing, so we all scooted over there, but were disappointed... no harlequins.
did see a pelagic cormorant showing off its breeding colors, along with some horned grebes, and some Brant's geese...
the pigeon guillemot - 7DII, 600mm, 1/4000 @ f/7.1
pelagic cormorant - 550mm, 1/2000 @ f/7.1
there were a number of horned grebes in breeding colors, but most of them stayed well away from the jetty. this one came in close enough for a decent shot... 600mm, 1/2500 @ f/7.1
some Brant's flew in and landed, but a eagle overhead spooked them, and several flew past in front of us on the jetty... 600mm, 1/3200 @ f/7.1
