spent my 4th in the woods, away from the crowds, listening to birds and the song of water flowing over stones - infinitely preferable, to me at least, to the racket of the city, the noise of fireworks, and the crowds. anyway, i went over to the west side of Hood Canal, took a trip up to Staircase. hadn't been there in years - well, okay, decades! - and it was really nice to get back over that way. here are a few preliminary images from the afternoon... more to come as i process the rest of the shots i took. all with 5D and 24-135, various settings, polarizer and/or ND filter.
