Last weekend was my 45 year high school class reunion in Lewiston, ID. For the first time in twenty years, I did not ride my motorcycle to Lewiston. I took the F-150 as I wanted to take along my photography equipment and spend time photographing things I usually would just ride past.
This is the last of my avian photo forays prior to the commencement of my class reunion activities on Friday (8/9). From Mann Lake, ID I drove across the Snake River to Swallows Park in Clarkston, WA. The park is one of the water front developments in both Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA. after downstream dams on the Snake River created slack water, or "Snake Lake" as my sister calls it. It was at least 90*F by now.
All gulls look alike to me, but I thought this one looked special none-the-less.
Sandpiper ID's also elude me. I followed this one around for awhile hoping to get some good photos to ID it when I returned home.
The Canada goose in the background shows how small the sandpiper is.
