Went out on a whale-watching tour this afternoon with Puget Sound Express... met up with Janine on the boat. Great day on the water... clear skies, calm seas, lots of whales! Got shots of orcas and humpbacks, and a brief glimpse of a minke. This is probably my favorite shot of the day - an orca breaching in Haro Strait. I have more shots to process, of course, and will probably post more later...

Has training birds to fly up and pose in front of you gotten so boring that you are now working on whales? ;)

Hmmm... now there's an idea! I'll have to work on it a bit, though... this one was pretty far away, and this is a fairly heavy crop. even with a 600mm lens...But orcas are much more intelligent than birds... it just might work! ;)

Just pack a cooler full of salmon to use as treats to reward the orcas. :D
