got this little tree swallow at Juanita yesterday. the waterfowl are mostly gone now, though a few will remain all summer, and the activity level has dropped off a lot, but there will be small birds - warblers, finches, woodpeckers, waxwings and such in the willows, etc., all summer. hopefully the pied-billed grebes will nest there again, and i'll be able to get some shots of those as well... anyway, this swallow was investigating a nesting hole from last season while another, possibly its mate, perched nearby. it apparently reached some decision, because shortly after, they both took off for parts unknown...
