So far the eaglet at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge has yet to fledge. Should be soon.

Carefully watching from a distance.

Great shots Janice. Nice seeing you out there last night.

Well, this activity you documented had been consistent for weeks with the eaglet getting more and more ambitious as we saw last night.

I just got back from there. I spent over 2 hours walking around the refuge.

THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOOOOOO ACTIVITY IN THE NEST TONIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MONTHS!!!

I only saw one eagle, an adult in a fir next to the visitors center.

I'm thinking maybe the eaglet has fledged!:)

This has been a photographmemories special post.

Nice seeing you too. I thought the time was nearing. That one hop made me think he was one gust away.

Thanks for the post.

Love your shots, Janice. Exciting to watch that 'first step.' Ours are a few days or maybe a couple of weeks behind. I'm anxious to see them branch, let alone fly :)

According to the Friends of the Refuge the eaglet fledged at. 6:05 this morning with a 100 yard flight to a tree to the north.

Have a long and happy life little eaglet.

There is a lot of open area. It would depend a lot on if they opened up the one road they closed. My odds a pretty slim since I don't have the time to dedicate to following them. My exposure to them is random. Pesky day job. LOL.
