stopped by the marsh this afternoon to see if that yellow-headed blackbird would reappear, but had no luck... perhaps it's realized it doesn't belong here and has headed home, or maybe it's just moved to another local area, but i saw no sign of it in about 4 hours of observation. i did, however, see Wesley enjoying the irises... unfortunately, he was doing so with the sun directly behind him, so the lighting for these is abominable! i did the best i could, but they're still not what i'd like...

I really like the light. I scrolled down to look at the photos and was really impressed. I read your thoughts and can imagine the challenge you had. Superb control here, Rocky!

thanks, Chad! i'd obviously have preferred to have the sun behind me, but sometimes ya just gotta take what you can get... ;)
 
You know Wesley, he don't need no stinkin' lighting. We exist solely to photograph him, not matter where the sun may be positioned.
