stopped off at Juanita this afternoon... pretty dead when i got there, but things picked up a bit just about the time the light started to go... figures. still, i was able to get some shots of this Wilson's snipe that wandered along the shore about 30 feet away foraging in the mud.

thanks, Ken! this was shot about 6 PM, so the light was all but gone... just the last vestiges of sunlight peeking over the horizon... but it was enough! i've seen snipe at Juanita Bay on a number of occasions, but if they're sitting in the reeds, which is where they usually are, they're all but impossible to spot. this one was unusually cooperative...
