today looked like it might be half decent... some sun late morning, so i headed down to Juanita hoping for some good light. alas, this is Washington in winter, so it was not to be... i no sooner got there than the light went to crap and everything turned gray and dim... 
but i hung around anyway, just because, well, it's what i do... 
the redwing blackbirds are just starting to make their presence known, and this little fella obliged by landing on a nearby cattail and posing for me... 7D, 150-600 @ 500mm, 1/500 @ f/6.3...
