Yep, Egret still back

My wife and I took a quick trip this AM. Found it feeding in the shallow in-coming tide, and having good luck. I think its being well fed for sure.
All taken with the Canon 5Diii 400mm f5.6L

They have such long necks and they coil almost like a snake before striking.

Then he/she flew up to the log and dried off for a bit

And resumed looking for goodies - the tide was pretty much in.

glad you got a chance to get some shots, Terry! every time i've been up there, the tide's been in, so the egret does its fishing between the logs. it certainly seems to be an expert fisher... seems like it catches about a dozen fish per hour.
 
I like the angle of those shots. I'll try to get up there Sunday afternoon after Daren's bowling tournament.
 


I just processed this shot and was taken by the wonderful abstract reflection - wish I had that kind of talent!
