this shot reminds me of the Japanese zen gardens, where they have rocks stuck in the middle of an open space of carefully raked gravel or sand... only this one is in water! ;) 5D (before it died) and 24-135 (before IT died), 135mm, 4 sec @ f/13, with polarizer...

That makes sense, since I seem to recall that the carefully raked gravel or sand is supposed to represent water and waves. Sort of a miniature landscape, often portraying the ocean and large rocks.

Nice capture, and it does have a Zen feel to it.

Very nice and rocky, Rocky:D

This whole series is great.

This shot makes me feel like I could slip away into it. I could definitely see myself pruning bonsai with this image overhead.

perfect.

thanks, guys...

also got some good news today... i just found out that i've sold another print through FineArtAmerica.com, and that will go a long way toward covering the cost of the replacement 24-135 i bought yesterday! :D

Indeed, great news! Congrats. It seems you must have had some good karma stored away for just the right time :)

Zen is a great name for this image... it makes me feel very calm. I love that you can see the color of the rocks below the surface, just enough for an interesting background but not the least bit distracting. Really a lovely capture :)
