just thought i'd post these as an example of how the light tricks our eyes...
a ridge along the valley floor...
or is it?
actually, it's a small ravine eroded into the valley at the foot of Mt St Helens. the first shot is upside down, second shot is the proper orientation. just goes to show, you can't always believe your own eyes!

It's pretty interesting how that worked out in this image.
When I was doing graphics I sometimes would look at my work upside down. If it was in any way out of balance or something was not quite right it would show up there.
