I may have mentioned that you guys might be subjected to several of these Utah shots. ;) Here are a couple more from a diferent sunrise - this time shot from Grandview Point in the Island in the Sky region of Canyonlands National Park.

As always, C&C is encouraged.

Morning light in the SW is fantastic.

Thanks. Yes indeed, the light is great, especially at sunrise. It has one thing going for it over the light around here - it's clear so you can actually see the sun. :D
 
Great photos Mike. Its interesting how the light transitions from dark to bright going left to right in the second one. Well executed.

I agree. The view is pretty much straight south, and the sun was coming up off my left shoulder. The light hadn't reached the lowest canyon floors yet, causing the gradation you noticed. In this country, it seems that sunrise (and for that matter, sunset as well) stretches out over a couple of hours.
