I've created a new category for your best images of 2009.

Here's what I have in mind... Create a thread with your name as the title. You can either use your forum user name, or your real name, whichever you prefer. So in my case, I'd call it something like "Bob Harbison - Best of '09".

Having a thread for each person will make it easier for folks to comment and also keep the thread from getting huge like it would if we combined everyone's images into one discussion.

There only rules for the topic are that the images should be from 2009, and that, as usual, they be safe for work / family viewing. You can show us whatever subjects you'd like, and as many as you'd like. Pick a theme, go for variety, whatever inspires you!

Here's a couple of possible ideas:

1) Show us your best image from each month.
2) Top Ten
3) Fabulous Five
4) Personal Best (no set number)
5) Your best shots on a certain theme (Landscapes, people, animals, cityscapes, the color yellow, whatever...)

Ideally you'll include some description with each of the images. What they are, how you got the shot, etc. This would be especially helpful if you did something unique to get the image, or used some special technique.

Feel free to work on your thread and post images as you have time. You might find more images as you review your work, if you do, feel free to add them.

One last note... Since we're asking you to show your very best, I'm going to relax the forum rules on watermarks and small images. Normally we suggest that images be at least 800 pixels and no large watermarks. However, in this intsance, if you feel that you need to use a smaller images, and/or include a watermark, that is permissible.

Personally, I don't have much concern over a low resolution web image being of much value to an image thief, but I know that not everyone agree with me on that count.

We're off to a great start folks, thanks to those of you who have posted something, and I hope more of you will join in the fun!

By the way, it's perfectly OK to post an image that you've already posted here on the forum. Typically you show off your good stuff during the year, so it's only logical that at least some of your best images will already have been posted. It's still neat to see your best work all in one place, sort of like seeing your portfolio.
