Started taking some photos of kiteboarding this year and found out about a festival going on this week. It looked like enough fun that I figured I'd venture into WA. :D
 
WOW...great action and that looks like FUN!!!! What time of day was this? Looks like harsh light and those came out great!
 
Thanks Christena! Yes it does look like a lot of fun. Some of these guys are really good at it which makes it easier to shoot.

These were taken mid afternoon. The light was a little harsh but the hardest part about this is shooting through the haze above the river--the longer the distance between you and the subject, the more the haze.
 
So did you have a front row seat? Zooming in? Tripod....all three :D For crying out loud you even have water drops in these!!
 
Much less dramatic. :) No tripod, standing on shore, 2 bodies, 70-200mm & 17-55mm. Its right off the river so everyone has a front seat. A very interesting event to watch.
