grebe on a pond

having just recently moved to an apartment near a small lake, i thought i'd see what local fauna might be about... i was pleased to find pied-billed grebes in the area, though just like the ones at Juanita near my old house, these seemed to be rather shy and refused to come in close enough for really good shots. still, this little fellow allowed me a couple of opportunities... 40D, 400mm, 1/1000 @ f/8...
