A couple weeks ago my husband surprised me with a kit to build a plastic twin lens reflex camera. I set right to work putting it together, and after a slight modification (the gasket for the top lens was smooth plastic, causing the lens to perpetually fall into the viewer. I replaced that with a small rubber gasket for a garden hose and it works great!) I was ready to test it out. Last weekend we spent Superbowl Sunday out at the train museum in Snoqualmie. I discovered that the shutter I built does seem to work properly (yay!) and the film picks up quite a bit more image than the viewfinder part shows, so I will need to keep that in mind for future shooting. But for now, here are a few images from the first roll of film.
Looks good. I like the composition and the old school feel.
Film? What the HECK is that? And no colors? My golly, even cell phones take pitchers in COLOR!!!!!
Pretty cool, one of my favorite cameras long ago in a galaxy far far away (Michigan), was my Yashicmat TLR. We all got cricks in our necks from looking down, and everything was backwards
I have to agree with the "old school" feel. Never had a clue that they had kits for making these.
