got some shots of the female kingfisher at the Edmonds marina on Saturday... she was perched on top of a boat mast, where she remained for a good 5 minutes or more while i and a friend snapped photos. with such tiny feet, it's amazing she could keep a grip on that metal perch, but i guess they have their ways. i'd have preferred a more natural roost, but hey - with kingfishers, ya takes what ya can get! 7D2, 600mm, 1/2000 @ f/8

We really need to name her, Rocky. Maybe Bill already has :) Nice shots - we are so lucky she frequents the pier/marina.

thanks, Terry... i was thinking the same thing. she hangs out there enough, perhaps a name is in order! how 'bout "Katie"?

Katie would be fine, but we better get Bill involved, Rocky - he may already have her named. We don't want to confuse her :)
